Memo: To all members of the Presbytery of Ottawa
Blair Bertrand, who is a minister on the roll presently based in Ottawa but on staff with International Ministries serving the church in Malawi, has requested that the following announcement be circulated to all presbyters.
David Sherbino, who was guest speaker at the presbytery retreat held last year, leads a program in thanatology at Tyndale University, Toronto. The program is unique in its interdisciplinary method of bringing together many different, including theological, resources to bear on death, dying, and grief.
Tyndale is hosting a conference with a top-notch speaker, Alan Wolfelt, which David Sherbino would commend to the presbytery.
Blair echos that commendation: “I remember years ago when in short succession I had a 13-year-old girl killed by a negligent driver and then a case of SIDS in my congregation. The resources that Wolfelt provided were spot on and deeply appreciated. I'm sure he will help any who attend.”
The details of the conference, scheduled for May 7-8, 2024, both in person and online, are contained in the attached pdf file.
Please circulate as you deem appropriate.
In Christ’s service,
J. T. Hurd.
