Good morning to our Friends in Christ
Campus Ministry appreciates the support of the local churches and the opportunities for partnership. There are a number of ways individuals and congregations can become involved in our ecumenical Christian ministry to the students of Algonquin College.
Lunch and Learn – last Wednesday of each month from 2:00 – 3:00
We would like to host a once-a-month Lunch and Learn session, the last Wednesday of the month. The intent is to provide a light lunch for the 10 to 20 students in attendance seeking to share a meal and have a reading of scripture and discussion. The lunch would be from 2-3:00 pm and we are looking for churches that would like to assist by providing food and possibly staying for the discussion.
Fish and Loaves – every Wednesday from 11:00 – 12:00
We would like to provide light snacks – baked goods and/or fruit – once a week for young Christians to drop in and socialize.
Christian Awareness Day
This is a pilot project to allow students on campus to learn about various Christian denominations. The tentative plan is to have representatives of interested Christian denominations to staff tables with accompanying literature to meet students interested in the various Christian communities in the Ottawa area. It would be held during the day time. At this point, we are interested in any expressions of interest by local churches/denominations about possible participation.
Donated items
We are always in need of items such as paper plates, disposable cutlery, cups, napkins, so contributions of this nature are always appreciated.
